Home      Gauge 1 North 2018      Layouts and Demonstrations

The star attraction will be the spectacular Ridings layout, with its four operating tracks and its range of scenic sections, some of which will be new additions to the layout.

The Gauge 1 Yorkshire Group's smaller end-to-end track Moordale will also be on view. A complete electrical refurbishment has been completed on the track over the winter, and new operating signals have been added. There will be a new scenic feature at the turntable end of the layout, where we have added an engine shed.

We are pleased to announce that there will be several demonstrations during the day, including painting and lining, scratch built wagon construction in various materials, including cardboard, building in stone in miniature, steam raising on a rolling road, pattern making, slip coach operation and much more.
"I Built it Myself" exhibition
We are repeating this popular feature we introduced a few of years ago, called "I Built it Myself".  This will be an exhibition of a variety of Gauge 1 items, which will be classified in three categories - Locomotives, Rolling Stock and Lineside Features. Items can be either scratch-built or kit-built or a mixture of both. If sufficient entries are received, we will ask the visiting public to vote on their favourite item and prizes for the best three models will be awarded, including the White Horse Trophy for the public's favourite model (kindly sponsored by Peter Spoerer Model Engineers,   Details and application forms can be obtained from
